STN MISSION STATEMENT:
STN supports, promotes, and recognizes excellence in scholastic broadcasting, creative video and filmmaking, and media convergence.
Student Television Network embraces the educational components of broadcast journalism, video production, filmmaking and media convergence by networking students and teachers with professionals in the industry. Middle School and High School students are given varied opportunities for training, interaction, competition and critiques from qualified experts.
STN offers opportunities for both teachers and students to share ideas, ask questions and network with individuals who face the same challenges throughout the school year.
STN offers support for school programs, online discussions, quarterly newsletters, contests, an online store, summer camps and regional workshops. The annual STN Convention unites affiliates for four days of professional instruction, contests and interaction with professionals and peers.
STN is a non-profit, 501C3 organization which was started in 1999 by a group of dedicated teachers who volunteered their time, energy, and vision. As STN grows, our efforts continue to diversify as we seek to serve our affiliates with new programs, liaisons and activities. As the world of technology changes, so does STN – we welcome your input, ideas, commitment and dedication to making Student Television Network the most professional program for teachers and students
